Transcript [00:00] Watch what happens when Medi Hassan [00:02] calls Nancy Mace an Islamophobe on Piers [00:05] Morgan. Take a look. [00:06] >> Every single Muslim holding public [00:09] office in America is a Trojan horse and [00:12] a threat to both national security and [00:14] our racist by that Nancy Mace. [00:17] >> It's okay. Holding public office is an [00:20] elected position. Do you need a [00:22] dictionary? Like come on. That's what [00:25] it's in reference to. [00:26] >> So cabinet members are not public [00:27] officials. Nancy May. So, so hold on. [00:30] Hold on. Marco Rubio is not a Is Marco [00:32] Rubio not a public official? He's not [00:33] elected. [00:33] >> He's not a radical Islamist. Are you [00:35] really going to pass it off right now? [00:37] And we have people. You just lied again. [00:40] You just said You just said every public [00:42] official is elected. I caught you out [00:44] again in a second lie. Marco Rubio is a [00:47] public official. Marco Rubio IS A PUBLIC [00:50] OFFICIAL. DON'T walk it back. EVERYONE [00:52] CAN SEE YOUR BIGOTRY. [00:54] >> Everyone can see your bigotry. That's [00:56] what I said. Is Rubio a public official? [00:58] You just lied to Pierce Morgan and said [01:00] a public official is elected. YOU GOT [01:02] CAUGHT. YOU GOT CAUGHT being racist. You [01:04] don't want to walk it back. You know the [01:05] best part of you not wanting to walk it [01:07] back is 5 years ago you weren't this [01:08] batshit crazy racist. You went on CNN [01:11] peers. What's interesting is in 2021 [01:13] Congresswoman Mace went on CNN after two [01:16] of her colleagues, Marjorie Taylor Green [01:17] and Lauren Boowbert called Ilhan Omar a [01:19] member of the Jihad squad. She went on [01:21] CNN and said they were racist, they were [01:23] disgusting. She suggested they were [01:24] religious bigots and she wasn't. She [01:26] suggested they're grifters. Ironically, [01:28] five years later, she's the racist [01:30] grifter. And now MTG is calling out her [01:32] racism. We've gone full circle. She [01:34] doesn't even believe what she's saying. [01:35] Five years ago, she knew that what she's [01:37] saying now is racist. 5 years ago, she [01:40] said Ramadan. Let her respond. [01:43] Let her respond. [01:44] >> Please stop talking at the same time. [01:47] >> But I was defending. [01:48] >> All right. Listen. Look, there's no [01:49] point, Nancy. There's no point having [01:51] this debate if you both just shout over [01:53] each other all the time. So Nancy, [01:55] respond to what Medie just said. Uh, [01:58] well, I was defending someone's first [02:00] amendment right to wear whatever piece [02:03] of clothing they want to wear. Same [02:04] thing with the words that you speak. [02:06] Everyone has the First Amendment right [02:07] to say what they want to say or wear [02:10] what they want to wear. Now, fast [02:12] forward 5 years later and we're seeing [02:14] some of these radical things happening [02:16] in our communities. Uh where people are [02:18] pushing back on uh Sharia law type of [02:21] things where there's now animal [02:24] sacrifices in Michigan where the mayor [02:26] of New York City days before 911 is [02:29] giving a pen to a guy that defended [02:30] al-Qaeda. Even the governor of New York [02:32] was in a hijab speaking to only men in a [02:35] mosque days before the 25th anniversary [02:37] of 911. I find this offensive and I'm [02:39] going to continue to speak out about But [02:41] I think it's gotten worse over the last [02:42] 5 years. I think the political division [02:44] has also made it worse. But we have to [02:46] have people are going to speak out and [02:48] push back against this radical thing [02:50] that's happening and starting to happen [02:52] in towns across the country more so than [02:54] ever before. [02:57] >> Okay. Medie, can I respond? [03:00] >> Yeah. So, it's interesting she talks [03:01] about Sharia law. There's no Sharia law. [03:03] It's a boogeyman that the Republicans [03:04] tried 15 years ago and now they're doing [03:06] it again. Why? Because gas prices are [03:08] high. Nobody trusts them. They're losing [03:10] uh in the polls. They're going to lose [03:11] in the midterms. So, they fall back on [03:13] racism, bigotry, and Sharia law. Which [03:15] Sharia law? Zoran Mdani and Abdul Aly [03:18] support Sharia law. I'm pretty sure [03:19] they're more progay than Nancy Mason's. [03:21] They're more protransgender than Nancy [03:23] Mason's. She has horrifically bigoted [03:25] things to say about gay and transgender [03:26] people. So, the idea that they're [03:28] pushing Sharia law is absurd. Uh the [03:30] idea that Kathy Hokll shouldn't wear a [03:32] hijab in a mosque. Ivanka Trump wore a [03:34] hijab when she went into a mosque. I [03:36] don't remember Nancy Mace attacking [03:37] Ivanka Trump for wearing a hijab. I [03:39] don't remember her attacking Donald [03:40] Trump for wearing a kipper when he went [03:41] to a Jewish institution. So this is all [03:43] absurd picking on Muslims to get votes. [03:46] It's purely cynical because as I pointed [03:48] out and she avoided it 5 years ago she [03:51] called much less rhetos bigger than [03:53] rhetoric from MTG and Bob but she called [03:55] it racism. CAN I FINISH? WHY are we [03:57] talking over each other? Why can't I [03:59] speak? Do you not let Muslims speak? I [04:00] haven't finished yet. I didn't interrupt [04:02] you. Let me finish my point and then you [04:03] can actually answer because you spent [04:05] the last 15 minutes avoiding everything [04:06] I said. You you you said you said keep [04:09] talking over me. Everyone can see you [04:10] doing it. You said every single public [04:12] official in America shouldn't be Muslim. [04:14] I pointed out that Dr. Oz is you said [04:17] he's not elected. I said Marco Rubio is [04:18] not elected. You dodged that point. So [04:20] you got caught there. You got caught [04:21] lying saying every terrorist is a Muslim [04:23] when we all know that's not true. [04:25] Everyone knows there are non-Muslim [04:26] terrorists. Look at what's happening on [04:27] the West Bank right now which you [04:29] support and there are there are also [04:32] Hindu and there are also Hindu. [04:35] There are also Hindu AND CHRISTIAN AND [04:37] JEWISH. WHAT'S REALLY WHAT'S really [04:39] interesting is Pier, if I can finish my [04:41] point, Pier, if I can finish my point, [04:44] Pier, without being talked over, [04:46] >> Pier [04:49] when she spoke, then you can respond. [04:51] She did not let me speak. Let me finish [04:52] my point. And then you can try and [04:55] respond. Okay. So, let me make my point. [04:57] She still hasn't responded as to why she [04:58] supports a woman in a Texas grocery [05:00] store attacking two Muslims, telling [05:02] them to get out of the country. Two [05:03] Muslim American women doing their [05:04] shopping. could be my wife or daughter. [05:06] She supports attacking them. She [05:07] supports banning Muslims for public [05:09] office. And it's all cynical peers [05:11] because they're losing in the polls. [05:12] This is all about elections. She's doing [05:14] it because she wanted to win. [05:16] Ironically, it didn't even help her. She [05:18] came fifth in South Carolina. She came [05:20] last in the governor's race. And Donald [05:21] Trump didn't endorse her. Donald Trump [05:23] said she's a nasty, terrible woman who's [05:25] untrustworthy. For the first time in my [05:27] life, I agree with Donald Trump. She is [05:29] an untrustworthy. [05:30] >> Donald Trump did not say that when I was [05:32] running for governor. That's not [05:34] >> Yes, he did. Exact words. He said that [05:36] when you when you were running for [05:37] Congress. [05:38] >> He said that [05:39] >> when you were running for Congress. He [05:40] said when you ran for governor, he [05:41] endorsed your opponent and you put out [05:44] You put out an AI video. YOU'RE SO [05:46] DESPERATE. YOU PUT out an AI video. You [05:49] put out an AI video pretending he [05:51] endorsed me. [05:52] >> I TALKED TO THE WHITE HOUSE. [05:53] >> You put out an AI video. [05:55] >> Why did you put out an AI video? Let me [05:57] ask you. Let me ask you. Were you [06:01] talking about [06:03] Stop. It's on your Twitter. Anyone can [06:06] ask. [06:06] >> It's a fake video of you and Trump. [06:08] >> I want to ask [06:10] >> I want to ask a separate question in the [06:13] news this week. [06:13] >> I'm sure that was animated. Maddie, this [06:16] is stupid. Like your argument doesn't [06:18] make any logical sense. [06:19] >> Fake AI video on the day he endorsed [06:21] your opponent. Everyone wondered why you [06:23] did it. Trump endorsed your opponent. [06:25] You lied and said he hadn't endorsed [06:27] your opponent. I just wonder, were you [06:28] drunk at the time? What was going on? [06:30] Why would you post an AI video? Well, [06:31] now now you've not just bigoted, you're [06:34] mad. [06:36] >> See, this is what happens when I'm [06:38] >> wondering why you'd put out a crazy [06:39] video. [06:40] >> A woman now. Now you're smearing me and [06:43] defaming me on [06:44] >> You want two Muslim women ejected from a [06:46] store in a grocery store. You haven't [06:48] addressed that yet. [06:48] >> I DO NOT GET DRUNK. [06:50] >> I NEVER SAID YOU WERE. [06:51] >> And that's disgusting. You just [06:52] >> I never said you were. Your former staff [06:54] has said it. Your former staffers said [06:56] you drink a lot. I never said that. [06:58] >> That was anime. [06:58] >> I never said that. Your former staffers [07:00] TOLD NEW YORK MAGAZINE YOU DRINK ALL DAY [07:02] LONG. I DIDN'T SAY THAT. I said, "Were [07:04] you drunk when you posted AN AI VIDEO?" [07:07] BUT YOUR staffers Your staffers say you [07:10] sent them to buy you alcohol at 2:00 in [07:12] the morning. [07:13] >> That's not true. [07:13] >> That's what your staffers told New York [07:15] magazine. [07:15] >> Not true, Mie. [07:16] >> I don't know if it's true or not. That's [07:18] what they said. [07:19] >> Well, it's not true. Who said that? [07:21] >> I never said that. They said that. Your [07:22] team [07:22] >> Nobody said that. It was [07:24] >> Your former comms director. Your former [07:26] comms director said it. [07:28] It's never happened. [07:29] >> Your former communications director said [07:30] you asked staff to go get drinks for you [07:33] in the congressional liquor store while [07:35] you're doing town halls. [07:37] >> It's not true. [07:38] >> No. No. There's a name on it. I can give [07:39] you the name. You want me to give you [07:40] the name? TAKE IT UP WITH HER. DON'T [07:41] TAKE IT UP WITH ME. Her name is Natalie [07:43] Johnson. Her name is Natalie Johnson. [07:46] She says that you drank so much she'd [07:48] have interns and junior staff run to [07:50] congressional liquor during the workday [07:51] so she could embibe during town halls. [07:54] That's what she said. Take it up with [07:55] your former comary. She doesn't like you [07:57] either. Donald Trump doesn't like you. [07:59] She doesn't like you. And Muslims don't [08:01] like you for being racist towards us. [08:03] >> That is very disgusting, Medie. And not [08:07] not not true. That's just that very [08:10] disgusting attack on a woman who's [08:11] trying to debate you about issues. And [08:13] >> I didn't say it was true. I simply said [08:14] that's what your staff said. [08:15] >> That are not true. That's what you're [08:17] doing right now. [08:17] >> You personally attacked me from the [08:18] moment this began. You said you said I'm [08:21] Jiad Jason at THE BEGINNING OF THE SHOW. [08:23] You liar. [08:25] You said you called me jiad. You called [08:27] me jihad Jason. So please clutch your [08:29] pearl somewhere else. You started the [08:31] personal attacks. You called for people [08:32] like me and my wife and my kids to be [08:35] attacked. Let me again try and wrestle [08:37] back control your president. [08:41] >> I want to ask one more question. [08:43] >> Yes. It was a bad joke [08:45] of you. Unlike your bigotry that you [08:47] don't apologize for. It was a bad It was [08:49] a bad joke that I apologize for. You're [08:51] a big woman. [08:52] >> You're a bigot. I have got one more [08:53] question, but I'm not going to bother if [08:55] you carry on [08:55] >> and sexist. [08:58] >> I have one more question I'd like to ask [09:00] if it's not too much trouble uh for you [09:02] to stop shouting the pair of you long [09:04] enough to answer it. But we had the big [09:06] story this week of Mmore the rapper [09:09] being dropped from Ed Sheeran's tour uh [09:12] for speaking out about the treatment of [09:14] Palestinians in Gaza. The New England [09:16] Patriots owner Robert Craft basically [09:19] organized a boycott among stadium owners [09:21] over this. U Medie Hassan, you know, it [09:25] seemed to me pretty obvious if he'd been [09:27] saying stuff that was pro-Israeli, there [09:29] would have been no issue with Robert [09:31] Craft. But because it was pro [09:33] Palestinian, even though it wasn't that [09:35] incendurary what he was saying, all [09:37] hell's broken loose. What does this tell [09:39] you about where we are now in in the [09:42] discourse about this? [09:46] >> It tells me that the United States right [09:47] now under Trump is in a very [09:48] authoritarian place where free speech is [09:50] under attack. Journalists are getting [09:51] arrested. And of course, the greatest [09:53] victims of authoritarianism of cancel [09:54] culture, so-called quote unquote, the [09:56] Republicans obsessed over for years have [09:58] always been Palestinians or supporters [10:00] of Palestine. They're always the first [10:01] people to get fired from Hollywood, to [10:03] be silenced on stage. I'm glad a lot of [10:05] other musicians have backed MLmore after [10:06] Ed Sheeran's cowardice and after Robert [10:09] Craft's censorship. Robert Croft being a [10:10] right-wing pro-Israel billionaire whose [10:12] name appears in the Epstein files who [10:14] says Israel is one of his biggest [10:15] issues. He comes along and silences this [10:18] artist. I mean, what kind of world are [10:19] we in where artists can't speak their [10:20] minds? As you said, peers, there was [10:21] nothing incendiary at all. He said free [10:23] Palestine. He said he loves his Jewish [10:24] brothers and sisters. He's against a [10:26] genocide. And the problem now is is that [10:28] you have big money in American politics [10:30] which is deciding who can speak and who [10:32] can't, who can get elected and who [10:33] can't. Robert Croft decides who gets to [10:35] speak at a concert. Apac, which spent [10:37] $30 million in Michigan trying to defeat [10:39] Abdul, I think has given over a hundred [10:41] grand to Nancy Mace. Apac is trying to [10:43] decide who should get elected to [10:44] Congress. You know, we're losing our [10:45] freedoms in this country. [10:48] Nancy Mace, did you see a problem with [10:51] what Mackmore said? [10:53] >> No. I mean, this is the market doing [10:55] what the market does and deciding what [10:57] needs to happen with the consumers that [10:59] it provides this entertainment to. and [11:02] that's his right uh to be able to do [11:04] that. I'm just glad that someone is [11:06] pushing back against the false narrative [11:07] about genocide in Gaza. There's no [11:09] evidence of genocide in Gaza. Um and [11:12] pushing back against people who want all [11:14] Jews dead. I mean, this is a very [11:16] dangerous movement. Synagogues are being [11:18] targeted. Jewish people can't leave [11:20] their homes because of the way that [11:21] they're being targeted. And I'm glad to [11:23] see that he did push back against this [11:25] and stood up for Jews, stood up for [11:28] America, stood up for Israel. Uh I think [11:30] I got more than 100,000 med. I think it [11:32] was 138,000 and clearly it wasn't it [11:35] wasn't enough. [11:36] >> Brilliant response by her you know just [11:39] demonstrating how things have changed [11:41] how you know maybe in the past she was [11:43] tolerant but you know Islamists used her [11:46] tolerance and abused it and now she's [11:49] seeing Sharia law in Texas. Now she's [11:51] seeing the Muslim mayor of New York City [11:54] pretending as if 9/11 was actually a day [11:57] to celebrate and uh she's waking up. [12:00] She's woken up. People are allowed to [12:02] change their minds. May have been more [12:04] tolerant and you know kind of eyes [12:06] closed in the past and now she is [12:08] smarter. Uh that's how I would put it. [12:10] Uh and Nancy Mace is somebody who is [12:12] incredibly outspoken against Islamism [12:15] and uh I don't think she takes it too [12:17] far. I think she's spot on. I think [12:19] she's spot on and I think that people [12:21] calling her an Islamophobe is just a way [12:23] to suppress free speech.
