Transcript [00:00] This last week, a film was screened at [00:02] the Venice Film Festival called Natza. [00:05] The film, directed by a couple of [00:07] Israelis, was awarded the special jury [00:10] prize. And when it was announced, it was [00:12] greeted with a full 25 minutes of [00:15] standing ovation. Why? Because it paints [00:18] a picture of the supposed Israeli war [00:21] crimes committed in Gaza with a [00:24] surprising amount of emotional and [00:26] journalistic shorty. But as we'll see [00:28] over the next few minutes, this film is [00:30] anything but journalistic. There are [00:33] major flaws in the claims made by the [00:35] film and serious doubts about the [00:37] directors themselves and uh their [00:40] possible ties to kamas. [00:43] Let's break down what this film is [00:45] exactly. Then we'll get into who made it [00:47] and the deeper implications this has for [00:50] Israel. The film's name, NATSA, is an [00:53] Israeli acronym for collateral damage or [00:56] civilian casualties and more than likely [00:58] chosen by the filmmakers for the [01:00] invocation of the word Nazi. To kick [01:03] this off, I want to play a clip from the [01:05] film itself. [01:16] for [01:45] as you can see from that clip, the film [01:47] is a series of conversations with 24 [01:50] supposed IDF soldiers who served in [01:52] Israel's Unit 8200 over the course of [01:56] this war. Unit 8200 is Israel's [01:58] intelligence operations. And I say [02:01] supposedly because the faces and voices [02:04] of these soldiers are fully disguised in [02:06] the film and the filmmakers refuse to [02:08] release the identities of those [02:10] involved, which right off the bat is a [02:13] major red flag. In these interviews with [02:15] the supposed IDF soldiers, a broad [02:18] picture is painted. And that picture [02:20] goes something like this. During the war [02:23] with Hamas, Israel used an AI model to [02:25] determine the collateral damage of a [02:27] potential strike in Gaza with cold [02:30] calculation and u many strikes were [02:32] authorized that killed dozens or [02:35] hundreds of civilians with Israel's full [02:37] knowledge that this would happen. And [02:40] the words of this post on X from this [02:42] last week, quote, ex-Israeli soldiers [02:45] and intelligence officers broke their [02:47] silence, describing an ice cold system [02:49] where strikes were calculated to kill as [02:52] many people as possible in Gaza. Now, [02:56] there are a number of red flags with [02:58] these claims made in the film. One is, [03:01] were any of these supposed IDF soldiers [03:03] actually in a position to know what they [03:06] were talking about? Unit 8,200 is the [03:08] biggest unit in the IDF with somewhere [03:11] around 5,000 to 7,000 members. Finding a [03:15] few dozen disaffected soldiers to tell a [03:17] story on camera with their faces and [03:19] voices masked isn't that difficult to [03:21] do. And uh just because words were [03:23] spoken, we don't have any idea if they [03:25] were telling the truth or if they [03:27] actually knew or understood what they [03:29] were doing. A second red flag is we [03:32] don't know with any kind of certainty [03:33] what kind of AI we're even talking about [03:36] here. AI in one form or another has been [03:39] around as a form of coding for decades [03:41] at this point. And uh AI code is [03:43] embedded at nearly every layer of [03:45] military software in some form or [03:48] another for Israel and pretty much every [03:50] other modern military. There is a huge [03:53] difference between a piece of software [03:56] using AI versus a piece of software [03:58] being run by AI. And uh as far as I [04:01] know, the film doesn't distinguish [04:04] between the two. For their part, the IDF [04:07] issued a statement in response to the [04:09] film where they said, quote, "Decisions [04:11] regarding the selection and approval of [04:14] strikes in the IDF are made by human [04:16] personnel only in accordance with IDF [04:19] guidelines and not by artificial [04:22] intelligence. But all of that aside for [04:24] a moment, if the IDF is indeed using AI [04:27] to predict how many civilians will be [04:29] affected by a strike on a terrorist [04:32] position, as the film posits, isn't that [04:34] actually a positive thing? If Israel [04:37] truly didn't care about civilian [04:39] casualties, why would they take the time [04:41] to develop an AI model to figure out [04:43] exactly what the cost of the strike will [04:46] be in advance? We'll get into more on [04:48] this in a second, but first guys, I [04:50] don't know if you've seen it yet or not, [04:52] but we actually have a second channel [04:54] called The Israel Guys Outdoors. But what makes [05:10] this place so incredible isn't just what [05:12] we're doing here today. It's the fact [05:14] that the Jewish people are back in this [05:16] land. Farms are being established and [05:18] Christians are coming from around the [05:20] world to help restore it. We're going to [05:22] spend the entire day working our way [05:24] down towards the Jordan River, putting [05:25] fence in the ground. Now, to address [05:39] what's probably the biggest claim of the [05:42] film, the one mentioned in the clip I [05:44] played earlier. Did Israel authorize a [05:47] strike knowing it would kill 500 [05:49] civilians in Gaza? Actually, this one is [05:53] pretty easy to debunk. Kamas themselves [05:56] record the number of deaths from each [05:58] air strike by the IDF. And often their [06:00] numbers are pretty inflated for PR [06:03] purposes. We've seen that a number of [06:05] times, but nowhere in even their [06:07] inflated numbers do we see an operation [06:10] that resulted in 500 deaths in Gaza. [06:14] retired IDF brigadier general addressed [06:16] this issue saying that even when Israel [06:18] has to hit a high ranking or highv value [06:20] target with kamas in Gaza, the civilian [06:23] casualties seem to stay in the single [06:27] digits. And before you go saying that [06:29] the source of that quote is biased [06:30] because he's in the IDF, need I remind [06:32] you that the 500 deaths claim also came [06:34] from a supposed IDF soldier, except we [06:36] have no idea if he's even a real person. [06:39] This quote comes from an actual IDF [06:41] commander with his identity attached to [06:43] it. And need I remind you, Israel [06:46] routinely drops pamphlets in [06:48] neighborhoods in Gaza warning that a [06:50] strike is coming. They also text local [06:53] cell phone numbers and often do a roof [06:55] knock where they drop a flashbang on the [06:57] roof a few minutes before a strike to [06:59] warn civilians that the strike is [07:01] coming. But to address one of the [07:04] strangest issues with this film, as I [07:06] said in the intro, the film is actually [07:08] directed by an Israeli named Abraham [07:11] Yuval. Abraham spent one week training [07:13] in the IDF before dropping out and [07:16] refusing to serve. So that tells you a [07:17] little bit about who we're dealing with [07:19] here as an Israeli. Uh he went on to [07:22] tackle a number of very left-wing [07:24] activist projects, including directing [07:26] the film No Other Land, which is a [07:28] highly biased, highly inaccurate project [07:30] about the communities in Judea and [07:32] Samaria. We've addressed some of his [07:34] claims in previous videos that are [07:36] wildly distorted, and that from our [07:38] personal experience on the ground in [07:40] Samaria. His work with the No Other Land [07:42] film won him a lot of international [07:44] prestige and awards and a lot of funding [07:47] by EU organizations. And also on top of [07:50] all of that, he actually has a [07:52] long-standing relationship with the [07:54] kamas linked Palestinian activist Ahmed [07:57] al-Nuk. Inside of Israel, as you can [08:00] imagine, there is a loud human cry for [08:02] some action to be taken in response to [08:04] this film. Many are calling for legal [08:06] action against the directors for liel or [08:09] for their citizenship to be revoked. [08:11] Although that being said, Israel has a [08:13] lot of freedom of speech, so the [08:15] likelihood of any of this coming to [08:16] anything is pretty slim. At the end of [08:20] the day, I want to leave you with some [08:22] revealing numbers. Palestinian sources [08:25] claim that Israel exploded some 130,000 [08:28] tons of explosives on Gaza over the [08:31] course of this war with Hamas, resulting [08:34] in some 75,000 [08:36] civilian casualties. Now, it's highly [08:38] doubtful that that 75,000 civilian [08:40] casualty number is in fact accurate. If [08:43] you dig into the data, it seems like [08:44] that this is the combined number for [08:46] civilians, probably also kamas members [08:49] and probably some natural deaths thrown [08:52] in there as well. But let's just say for [08:54] the sake of conversation that this is [08:56] actually accurate. If Israel was [08:59] deliberately targeting civilians in the [09:01] densely populated Gaza Strip, a 141 [09:04] square mile area with some 2 million [09:06] people living there, why did Israel see [09:09] an average death rate of one person per [09:11] every 3,500 lb of bombs dropped? Just [09:16] think for a minute. If Israel were to [09:18] drop two 2,000lb bombs, 4,000 lb of [09:21] explosives into a market or neighborhood [09:24] with the express purpose of killing as [09:26] many people as possible, how many people [09:28] would die? Instead, even by Kamasa's own [09:31] inflated numbers, we're looking at about [09:34] one death per every 3,500 lb of [09:36] explosives dropped, which is exactly [09:39] what you'd expect to see in calculated, [09:42] precise strikes designed to fight a [09:44] terrorist group hiding in populated [09:47] areas. But honestly, at the end of the [09:49] day, what's the hardest to process with [09:51] this film is the 25 minutes of applause [09:55] from this film festival. Dictators [09:57] around the world are inflicting untold [09:59] human suffering on millions of people. [10:01] In the Russia Ukraine war alone, [10:03] hundreds of thousands of people are [10:05] dying. But what the world really cares [10:07] about is the fact that Jews are once [10:09] again prospering in the land that God [10:13] gave them. And they care to the tune of [10:15] 25 minutes of standing applause, which [10:19] is horrifying. Guys, don't forget about [10:22] our second channel, The Israel Guys [10:23] Outdoors.
